The Finnish Society for Celtic Studies (SFKS) was established in 1990 to further the study and research of Celtic languages and cultures in Finland and welcomes everyone interested in the topic. Celtic studies are understood broadly to include also the history and modern culture of countries where Celtic languages are spoken (Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Bretagne etc.) SFKS is a member of the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies.
SFKS arranges lectures, meetings and seminars and publishes papers presented on these and other fora. In annual spring and autumn seminars held around the festivals of Bealtaine and Samhain, shorter popular presentations are held followed by often lively discussion.
